Radiator Removal

Where appropriate, I arrange for a plumber to remove the radiators so I can access the full wall surface and achieve a seamless, uninterrupted finish behind them

Visual Lamp Inspection

Using a high‑intensity inspection lamp, I assess every surface to identify imperfections that normal lighting can’t reveal. This sets the standard for the preparation that follows.

Plaster Repairs & Skimming

Any seriously damaged walls or ceilings are repaired at this stage by a professional plasterer, ensuring the surface is properly restored. Smaller imperfections are skimmed to create a smooth, even base that’s perfectly prepared for painting.

New Plaster Wet Coat (Where Required)

Fresh plaster is sealed with a controlled wet coat to ensure proper adhesion and a consistent finish.

Light Switches & Sockets: Safe Preparation

Switch plates and sockets are cleaned, safely loosened (or if you prefer removed by a qualified electrician) and then taped to allow clean, sharp paint lines around every edge.

Window & Exterior Door Frame Preparation

Frames are cleaned, filled, sanded and prepared to ensure crisp lines and a great finish.

Old Damaged Silicone Removal

Any failing or discoloured silicone is removed to prepare for clean, fresh application later in the process.

This is the heart of the Paintr® Process — a detailed, repeating cycle that ensures every surface is perfectly prepared before any paint is applied.

  1. Visual Lamp Inspection
  2. Old Damaged Caulking Removal
  3. Filling & Surface Preparation (Walls & Ceilings)
  4. Woodwork Filling & Preparation
(Skirting Boards, Window Sills, Doors, Architraves, Staircases, Bannisters & Handrails)
  5. Dust‑Free Sanding (Where Possible)

This 5 point cycle is repeated until the surfaces meet my standard for a premium finish.

Visual Lamp Inspection

This is carried out after all filling and preparation to highlight any remaining imperfections before painting begins.

Cleaning & Surface Readiness

A flawless finish starts with a spotless environment. Before any paint is applied, I carry out a thorough deep clean to remove dust, dirt and debris from every surface. This prevents contaminants from settling into fresh paint, which can create a rough texture that would otherwise need correcting later.

New Caulking Application

Fresh caulk is applied to all relevant joints and trim lines to create crisp, seamless edges and ensure a flawless finish once painted

Stain Blocking & Specialist Priming

Targeted stain blockers and specialist primers are applied wherever needed to ensure perfect adhesion, prevent bleed‑through, and create a stable, uniform base for the final finish.

Base Coat

During the initial planning stage, I’ll assess whether and where a base coat is needed. It’s not required on every project or every wall, but when an existing colour is particularly strong, it can show through the new finish. Applying a dedicated base coat stops this from happening and ensures the final colour looks clean, consistent and exactly as it should.

There are also times when, after preparation, walls and ceilings are still heavily marked, patchy or made up of multiple old colours. In these cases, it can be difficult to judge their true condition. A base coat evens everything out, flattens visual distractions and reveals any final imperfections that need attention before painting. It’s an extra step that leads to a noticeably better, more refined final finish.

This is where I apply the first full, even coat of paint. It’s the layer that sets the standard for everything that follows, so getting it perfectly smooth and consistent makes a noticeable difference to the final finish.

Cutting‑In with Precision

Clean, controlled lines are essential for a crisp, professional result. I use a fine brush and a mini roller to minimise brush marks and create sharp, accurate edges and corners. This level of precision gives the room its structure and ensures the top coats sit beautifully.

Spotting In

Where additional filler has been used, a sealing coat of paint is applied to prevent flashing and colour inconsistencies once the second coat goes on.

Cleaning & Surface Readiness

All surfaces are fully dusted and vacuumed before any paint is applied, ensuring a clean environment so no debris settles into the fresh finish.

The second round of painting is where the finish really sharpens. This coat evens everything out, deepens the colour and gives the surfaces that smooth, consistent, high‑end look the whole room depends on.

The final stage is a slow, careful walkthrough of every room, every surface and every detail. I check the finish under natural and artificial light, ensure all edges are crisp, all surfaces are smooth and all colours are consistent.

Cleaning and Packing Up

Once I’m satisfied with the finish, I carry out a full clean‑down so your home is tidy, fresh and ready to enjoy.

Only when everything meets the standard we agreed do I consider the project complete — and leave you with a beautifully finished home.
