My Process – A Methodical, High‑Standard Approach to Interior Redecoration

‘I don’t rush a property and end up with a Snagging List to fix at the end!

My work is methodical, consistent, and carried out to the highest standard from start to finish. You’re involved at every stage so we always move toward the exact final finish we’re aiming for.

Every home deserves a result that feels calm, consistent, and beautifully executed. Over the years, I’ve refined a detailed, repeatable process that delivers exceptional results across every room, every surface, and every detail.

After each stage, we walk through the property together to make sure you’re happy with the progress and the direction of the project.

1. Visual Lamp Inspection

I begin with a detailed Visual Lamp Inspection to identify every defect that needs attention.
Walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, windows — every surface has faults that must be found before they can be fixed.

This step sets the standard for the entire project.

2. Filling & Repairs

Once the issues are identified, I repair them using the correct method for each problem.
This can include :

  • cutting out damaged areas
  • taping
  • filling
  • caulking
  • surface repairs

I’ve got a full kit of specialist materials to ensure every defect is properly dealt with.

3. Sanding

After repairs, every surface is sanded thoroughly :

  • walls
  • ceilings
  • doors
  • spindles
  • frames
  • trims

This creates a smooth, even base for painting.

Once sanding is complete, everything is cleaned and vacuumed — you can’t paint in a dusty environment.

4. Stain Blocking & Priming

Next, I apply stain blockers and primers to ensure nothing bleeds through the final coats.

This step is often skipped on cheaper jobs, but it’s essential if you want a flawless, long‑lasting finish

5. Painting

Finally, the painting begins.

I apply two coats of high‑quality paint (Dulux Trade, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene).

Between each coat, there’s a light sanding to :

  • help the paint adhere
  • remove any high spots
  • eliminate dust or fibres
  • ensure a perfectly smooth finish

Skipping these steps is how “cheap jobs” end up looking patchy, uneven, or rough.

This is the difference between a quick coat of paint and a professional redecoration

Cleaning Up

Once we’re both happy with the finish, I carry out a full clean‑down :

  • dust sheets removed
  • floors vacuumed
  • surfaces wiped
  • furniture put back

Your home is left clean, tidy, and ready to enjoy immediately.
