FAQ Interior Painting & Whole‑House Redecoration Questions

How long have you been painting house?

I’ve been painting for over 15 years, specialising in whole‑house interior redecoration for around 10 years.
I also take on smaller projects, such as single rooms, hall‑stairs‑landings, and woodwork refreshes.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. I have £1,000,000 public liability insurance for your peace of mind. Your home, furniture, and belongings are protected throughout the entire project.

Do you work alone or with a team?

I’m a specialist. That means you deal directly with me, the person doing the work — no subcontractors, no rotating crews, and no surprises.

Do you offer written quotes?

Yes. You’ll receive a clear, fixed quote with no hidden extras. Everything is agreed upfront.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. All my work is backed by a 6 month workmanship guarantee. If anything needs attention after the job is completed, it’s put right promptly.

Do you take on smaller jobs?

Yes — absolutely.
While whole‑house projects are my speciality, I regularly take on :

  • pre‑sale refreshes
  • single rooms
  • hall‑stairs‑landings
  • woodwork refreshes
  • colour updates
  • rental repaints

If the job matters to you, it matters to me.

What does whole house interior redecoration include?

A whole‑house project means refreshing every room in your home in one coordinated plan. I handles walls, ceilings, woodwork, feature walls, colour updates, and all the preparation needed for a flawless finish.

The result is a clean, consistent look throughout your entire property — whether you’re in Bath, Bristol, Oxford, Gloucester, Swindon or anywhere within 50 miles of Bath.

Why choose me for a full home redecoration?

Whole‑house redecoration is my speciality.

Instead of jumping between small jobs all week, I focus on high‑quality, full‑property projects — which means :

  • more efficient workflow
  • higher standards
  • better consistency
  • cleaner finishes

But I still take on smaller jobs when they fit my schedule

How long does a whole house redecoration take?

Most homes take 10–30 days, depending on size, layout, and surface condition.

Smaller jobs (like a single room) are usually completed in 1–4 days.

How much does whole house redecoration cost?

Pricing depends on property size, surface condition, and the level of finish you want.
Whole‑house projects are usually more economical than decorating room‑by‑room because labour and materials are used more efficiently.

Smaller jobs are priced clearly and fairly — you’ll receive a fixed quote with no hidden extras.

Do I need to empty the rooms first?

Ideally yes. An empty house is so much easier to prepare and paint than a house full of stuff.

But in the real world this isn’t always possible.
Small items should be moved, but larger furniture can stay – I shift it safely, protect it, and cover everything.

Do you repair cracks and damaged walls?

Yes. Preparation is the biggest part of most projects and it’s what makes my finish look so clean and fresh.

I fill cracks, smooth rough areas, sand woodwork, and ensure every surface is ready before any paint goes on.

Can you help me choose colours for the whole house?

Absolutely.
Colour flow is essential in both whole‑house and single‑room design.

I help you choose:

  • a palette that suits your home
  • neutral base tones
  • accent colours
  • light‑enhancing shades
  • durable finishes

What paint brands and finishes do you use?

I only use premium, durable paints that give better coverage and longer‑lasting results like Dulux Trade, Farrow & Ball, Little Green.

You can choose from matt, soft‑sheen, eggshell, satin, or gloss depending on the room and surface.

Do you paint doors, skirting boards, and woodwork?

Yes. Woodwork is a key part of a whole house transformation.

Doors, frames, skirting boards, window sills, and banisters are all refinished to match the new décor.

Will my home be clean when the work is finished?

Yes. I carry out a full clean down at the end of the project.

Dust sheets are removed, floors are vacuumed, and surfaces are wiped so your home is ready to enjoy immediately.

Do I need to move out during the work?

You don’t need to be away, it’s about 50/50 for most of the projects I take on.

Some clients stay in the home and I work around them and their schedules/life styles. I try to keep noise/disruption a minimal.

If you prefer to be away, I can complete the project while the property is empty.

Are the paints safe for children, pets, and allergy sensitive homes?

Low‑VOC and eco friendly paints are available. These reduce odours and chemical exposure, making them ideal for families and sensitive environments.

How often should a whole house be redecorated?

Most homes benefit from a full refresh every 5–7 years, depending on lifestyle, sunlight exposure, and general wear.
